This commission began with a conversation. The client, a young lady looking for something personal and timeless for her upcoming 21st birthday, came to me with a clear feeling in mind, even if the exact form wasn’t yet defined. Together, we explored ideas around simplicity, texture, and meaning, settling on a hand-cut sterling silver initial with a subtle stardust finish.
To ensure the piece felt just right when worn, I first prototyped the design in copper, for both the style, size and texture.
This allowed us to fine-tune the design before committing to silver.
Throughout this stage, the client was actively involved: I shared progress photos and updates, inviting feedback and discussion at each step. This collaborative approach ensured the final design truly reflected her vision.

Once we were happy with the prototype, I hand-cut the final pendant in sterling silver, carefully applying the stardust texture to catch the light and add depth while keeping the design understated and elegant.
We also had to decide whether to texture the back of not – we did!

The finished piece is both personal and wearable—crafted specifically for her, and intended to be worn every day.
The result is a bespoke pendant that tells a quiet story: thoughtful design, skilled making, and a close collaboration from first idea to final delivery.
